Hey, don’t say “casa de puta,” that sounds way too harsh. Ask something like “donde puedo encontrar mujeres” and taxi drivers and bartenders and what not will know what you’re talking about, without you sounding like such an ass.

#9 It’s “quiero verte” not “verlo”

And don’t ask “Te gusta gringos, si?” It sounds like you’re fucking Borat over there.

Ask something like, “Y… que te parecen los gringos?” And then give a cute smile. (That means, “So… what do you think of gringos?”

If someone says something negative (usually to be funny I would guess) say, “I totally agree… but what do you think of X type of Gringos?” where the “X type” is your type.

I’m portuguese but I can see a couple of very common mistakes there.

Tu estás simpatica -> Tu eres simpatica

“Estar” verb is for WHERE and HOW you are. “Ser” is for WHAT you are. So… “Tu estás simpatica” doens’t really apply unless she is normally bitchy or something, but is being nice today. I hope that makes sense. Basically “to be” splits in 2 verbs in portuguese and spanish.

Quiero verlo otra ves -> Quiero verte otra ves

At least “verla”. But that is formal. Something you might say to an older woman, but to a girl.

“Quiero verlo” applies if u are talking to a man (and in a formal way… otherwise its “verte” as well), or about a man (or a movie, or something other with a “male” word for it).

These are 2 common mistakes for english speakers, and might even add to that gringo allure…

Im a 25yr old gringo living on the beach in Mexico for the past 8 years… I found girls thought I was more interesting when I spoke bad, broken Spanish and they only spoke a little to no English… If you laugh while you are talking they think what your saying is really funny and they will laugh too, even though your not funny at all. Now I know Spanish and girls are less interested in me because they stop using their imaginations … Some girls act like they dont speak English when they do just to trick you, watch out for those… Nice site, cant stop laughing, keeps my time at work go alittle faster
